What Guidepoint offers
Guidepoint describes itself as an expert network and research provider for institutional investors, investment banks, corporations, consulting firms and professional services firms. It is headquartered in New York, with offices and regional teams across the world, including Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Its website lists:
- Expert consultation: one to one calls that you run yourself or that are moderated, including with AI.
- Live formats: moderated teleconferences, roundtables and group meetings. Roundtables are live and not recorded.
- Library: searchable transcripts of expert interviews and focus polls, with an AI tool called AskGp.
- Surveys and data: surveys of hard to reach experts, and Healthcare Intelligence data built on primary research.
- Guidepoint360: its platform, available on web, API, mobile app and MCP.
On compliance, Guidepoint describes controls before, during and after each engagement, with an audit trail, and says clients can add their own screening questions or approvals. Its website does not publish prices. You request a trial or speak to the team.

Companies like Guidepoint fall into three groups
- Expert networks with several formats: GLG, AlphaSights, Third Bridge, Dialectica and Nextyn run one to one calls alongside surveys, advisers or moderated sessions.
- Library and platform led firms: Tegus, now part of AlphaSense, centres on an expert transcript library and financial models in a research platform. Guidepoint and Third Bridge also run libraries beside their calls. See expert call transcript libraries.
- Specialist referral firms: Round Table Group finds expert witnesses for litigators, which is a different service from investment research.
Within the first group, GLG adds AI research tools in its myGLG platform, AlphaSights offers calls moderated by former investors, Third Bridge's Library holds interviews led by investors and sector analysts, and Dialectica says it combines human expertise with generative AI. Our guides to GLG alternatives, AlphaSights alternatives and Third Bridge alternatives look at each in turn.
Guidepoint vs GLG
Guidepoint and GLG describe a similar core: one to one expert calls, a transcript library, surveys and AI tools on a platform.
GLG lists events and advisory placements, including deal advisers, board directors, fractional roles and expert witnesses. Guidepoint lists moderated roundtables and group meetings, Healthcare Intelligence data and the Guidepoint360 platform. Both describe client specific screening questions.
The practical test is a live brief. Give both firms the same question and compare the profiles, the screening record and the transcript. Our expert network comparison puts the main firms side by side.
Third Bridge vs Guidepoint for private equity due diligence
Third Bridge lists private equity as a client group, and Guidepoint serves institutional investors. Both run expert calls and a library. Third Bridge describes experts custom sourced to test an investment thesis and a Library of interviews led by investors and sector analysts. Guidepoint describes one to one calls, moderated teleconferences, a Library of moderated interviews and AI moderation.
For diligence, ask each firm whether it can reach the seat your thesis depends on, such as a former executive at a named competitor in one country. Ask how experts are screened against your deal, what record you keep, and how soon you would see the first profiles. Our guide to expert networks for private equity covers the wider field for deal teams.
Guidepoint vs Roundtable Group compares an expert network with an expert witness firm
The firm behind roundtablegroup.com is Round Table Group, and its website describes an expert witness referral service for law firms and businesses. It finds and screens expert witnesses for litigators and offers background reports on experts. Its website says the search carries no charge or obligation to retain, and you pay a quoted rate when you retain a referred expert.
Guidepoint serves investors, banks, corporations and consulting firms with research calls, so the two answer different needs. A second source of confusion is the Guidepoint Roundtables format, a live, moderated small group session with vetted experts, which is not a separate company. If you need a litigation expert, see our page on expert witness and litigation support.
Five checks help you compare Guidepoint with any other option
- Seats and regions: ask for example profiles for your brief, in the countries you need.
- Formats: list the formats your team will use, such as calls, panels, surveys and a library.
- Record: ask what you receive after each call, including the screening record and the transcript.
- Commercial model: compare a price per call with a prepaid or subscription agreement at your volume.
- Ownership: find out who runs your brief from the first conversation to the transcript.
Our guide to expert network compliance goes further on the third check.
Where Nextyn fits
Nextyn is an expert network and primary research firm, founded in Mumbai in 2018 and headquartered in Singapore since 2022. Our team works from New York, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore and Jakarta, and a dedicated US team serves active US mandates. Clients include private equity firms, venture capital investors, hedge funds, investment banks, consulting firms and corporate strategy teams, and we cover twelve industry groups.
You can use Nextyn for expert calls, moderated calls and expert panels, as well as surveys and advisory boards. Engagements start from an upfront agreement, and project scopes draw down against it. Every expert is screened for conflicts and material non public information before booking, and where your policy and ours differ, the stricter applies. Each engagement keeps a record of who was approached and what they were screened against. Our approach is on the compliance page.
A research lead owns each brief from the first conversation to the transcript, and every call lands in Nextyn IQ, where your team can search it. Deal teams can read how we work with private equity clients. Case studies include commercial diligence on a retail chain inside exclusivity and building a searchable record of healthcare expert conversations.
